What Are “Specific Mediums”?

In the NSW English K–10 syllabus, the medium of a text is the channel through which it is delivered — spoken, print, visual, media, multimedia and digital. A story, an argument or a report can travel through many mediums, and the medium changes the message: the same information lands differently as speech, as print, as a chart, as a film, or as an interactive website. NESA English K–10 expects students to experience and compose texts across these mediums from the earliest stages.

This pack sits alongside the purpose packs — Imaginative, Informative and Persuasive — and shows how the same purpose is shaped differently in every medium.
